AppNEET 2026 Result
Declared 16 July 2026, after the exam was cancelled and re-held in June. Who qualified, what the cutoff came to, and the ranks that came out of it.
NTA declared the NEET 2026 result on 16 July 2026. 11,21,185 of the 19,99,895 candidates who appeared qualified — about 56%.
The cutoff came to 213 marks for UR and EWS at the 50th percentile, and 177 for OBC, SC and ST at the 40th. Aryan Gupta and Panshul Bansal shared All India Rank 1 with 715 out of 720.
The result is final — NTA does not re-evaluate answer sheets once it is published.
How the cycle ran #
An unusual year: the scheduled paper was cancelled, and NEET 2026 was decided on a re-examination seven weeks later.
Qualifying percentile #
The percentile is fixed by rule; the marks it converted to in 2026 were 213 for UR and 177 for reserved categories.

The 2026 cutoff is far higher than 2025's, when UR qualified at 144. That is a statement about the paper, not about the candidates — the percentile requirement did not change. See the cutoff page for the year-on-year comparison.
The numbers #
2,79,848 registered candidates did not turn up — and women made up 58% of everyone who qualified.

NEETprep students in the 2026 list
Two of the national top 10 practised on NEETprep — Uplakshya Goyal at All India Rank 3 with 711 of 720, and Aryan Dubey at All India Rank 7. Both appear in NTA's own topper list above. In all, 13 NEETprep students placed inside the top 550, and between them they practised more than 3,20,000 MCQs.

The result is available online only — it is not posted or sent by any other route. You need your roll number and date of birth to open it.
How the score is calculated #
Score = (correct × 4) − (incorrect × 1). A wrong answer costs you five marks relative to leaving it blank.
If two candidates tie #
Four tie-breakers, applied in this order until the tie is broken.
- Higher marks in Biology. The largest section decides first.
- Higher marks in Chemistry. Applied only if Biology doesn't separate them.
- Fewer incorrect answers across all subjects.
- Age. The older candidate is placed higher.
What happens next #
The merit list goes to the counselling authorities, and admission — not qualification — starts there.
NTA prepares the NEET merit list from the marks obtained, with separate lists by category alongside an overall list. That list goes to the Medical Counselling Committee for the 15% All India Quota, deemed and central universities, ESIC and AFMS seats; state authorities handle the remaining 85% and private colleges within the state.
MCC Round 1 opened on 5 August 2026. Before choosing colleges, check the closing ranks — qualifying and getting a seat are different questions.
